Know whether the compressor or its drive is at fault.
ECP739 tests electric air-conditioning compressors outside the vehicle. It combines high-voltage drive and low-voltage control with mechanical compression and pressure-hold checks, so a workshop can distinguish electrical communication issues from a compressor that cannot build or retain pressure.

At a glance
Two sides of the diagnosis
Evaluate drive-circuit operation and mechanical pressure performance in one process.
Guided model selection
A database of more than 900 compressor drive records helps select a matching test procedure; coverage changes with software updates.
Traceable result
Watch pressurisation and venting in real time, retain test history and share a PDF report.
Functions in the workshop
Electrical drive test
Supply the selected compressor with 50–750 V DC at up to 20 A and 12/24 V auxiliary power at up to 2 A. CAN, LIN and enable control are listed in the product documentation; the correct harness and procedure depend on the compressor.
Pressure and tightness
The integrated 3 L gas tank supports pressurisation, pressure holding and venting. The test checks whether the compressor builds and retains pressure; equipment pressure is specified up to 12 kgf/cm².
Guided process
The test interface visualises stages, applies a set target and performs stabilisation and release. The device also offers fault-code repair guidance, case references and circuit diagrams when online resources are available.
Wireless operation and records
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect to a compatible tablet for remote operation. Historical results can be shared as PDF via QR code, email or Bluetooth, according to the SmartSafe description.
Protection and updates
An adjustable 0–40 A circuit breaker is specified. Online updates keep the compressor data and service guidance current.
Suggested workflow
- Confirm compressor type, applicable test lead and electrical ratings in the vehicle and equipment documentation.
- Connect high-voltage, low-voltage, communication and pressure lines with the system isolated and depressurised.
- Select the matching drive record, run the electrical and pressure stages, then review fault information and pressure history.
- Save the result and compare it with the manufacturer’s diagnostic procedure before deciding on repair or replacement.

Before ordering and use
High-voltage and pressure tests require trained personnel and the correct leads and safety procedure. The source does not establish a universal vehicle coverage list or the contents of every regional kit; confirm compressor, harness, software and local power supply before ordering.
